Finding Hidden Gem Locations in Norfolk & Suffolk for 2026

Natural dog photography location in Norfolk woodland with soft light and lake backdrop

Beautiful architecture , quiet surroundings, and natural soft light make this one of my favourite Norfolk photoshoot location finds.

As we move into 2026, I’m making a more conscious effort to seek out new, lesser-known photoshoot locations across Norfolk and Suffolk. While these counties are filled with popular and well-loved spots, I believe some of the most meaningful and visually striking photography happens when you step away from the obvious locations and discover hidden gems that feel untouched, peaceful, and truly special.

Why I’m Focusing on Hidden Photoshoot Locations

Norfolk and Suffolk offer an incredible mix of woodland, coastline, lakes, historic architecture, and countryside, but many popular photography locations are becoming increasingly busy. For photoshoots, this can make it harder to capture relaxed, natural images without distractions. By investing time into finding quieter, less-accessible locations, I’m able to create a more intimate experience and produce images that feel timeless and unique.

This approach also aligns with being more mindful of the environment - choosing locations that allow us to work quietly, respectfully, and with minimal impact.

Discovering a Hidden Woodland Gem Near King’s Lynn

Recently, I discovered one of the most beautiful photoshoot locations I’ve ever come across, tucked away in a woodland area near King’s Lynn in Norfolk. Reaching it required around a 30-minute walk, which instantly made it feel like a real adventure - and completely worth the effort.

Hidden within the woodland was a stunning lake, surrounded by trees that filtered the light beautifully, creating the kind of natural glow photographers dream of. What made the location even more special was the unexpected architectural building that beautifully looks over the water, adding texture, structure, and a sense of history to the setting. The combination of nature and architecture created endless creative possibilities.

A Location Accessible Only to Dogs - and Why That Matters

Interestingly, this particular photoshoot location is dog-accessible only, which helps keep it quiet, natural, and less crowded, while still being fully accessible for people and well worth the walk. Locations like this are ideal for dog photography and lifestyle photoshoots in Norfolk, offering peaceful surroundings, beautiful natural light, and a relaxed atmosphere.

At the same time, my work as a Norfolk and Suffolk photographer extends beyond dog photography, and I apply the same careful location-scouting process to my equine photography sessions, sourcing safe, suitable, and visually stunning locations for horses and riders. Whether I’m photographing dogs, horses, or people, choosing the right photoshoot location across Norfolk and Suffolk is always a priority, ensuring every session is thoughtfully planned and perfectly matched to the subject.

How These Discoveries Shape My Photography in 2026

Finding hidden gems like this woodland near King’s Lynn reinforces why I love photographing in Norfolk and Suffolk so much. These quieter locations allow clients to feel more comfortable, move naturally, and enjoy the experience - which always shows in the final images.

Throughout 2026, I’ll continue exploring new woodland walks, lakes, countryside paths, and lesser-known architectural spots across the region. Every new location adds depth and variety to my work, ensuring each photoshoot feels personal and completely unique.
